The thing that struck me when reading Wayne Elise’s How To Meet And Connect With Women, was how different his method is from other methods. Most information and tips from the seduction community can be divided into three categories: You have outer game, aka routines, what to say, patterns etc., then you have inner game: how you feel and think, and how to reflect that outwardly to attract women. Lastly there’s attention to appearance. Most systems I’ve seen (DVDs, ebooks) throw all three in the mix.
Wayne Elise’s ebook, aside from a tiny handful of tips on appearance and attitude, focuses mainly on conversations; how to start them, how to sustain them, and more importantly, how to escalate them to more intimate levels. Basically it’s about having really good conversations with anyone you meet, no memorized routines necessary. It’s a deceptively simple system: open, ask an open-ended question, reward, escalate, repeat from step 2. Of course, there’s a LOT more to each step, and frankly I’m surprised they managed to put this much info on such a big topic into a mere 150 pages. Interestingly enough, the book doesn’t apply to conversations with beautiful women only, it’s about making a connection with anyone you meet.
The first part of Wayne Elise’s ebook contains a small introduction to the system, explaining what to expect, and with what mindset to approach the book and pick up in general. The book is surprisingly light-hearted, with jokes sprinkled throughout. There’s even a warning against taking pickup too seriously.
Wayne Elise’s eBook gets right down to business in the second part. It starts with initial vibe, approach anxiety, and focus openers. If you see a woman reaching for a book in the bookstore, or a DVD in the video store, that’s an instant opening line: “Don’t take that one! Take this one”. Flopsy openers are a special category of this: it was named after a rabbit on a leash Wayne Elise once spotted during a boot camp he did. Basically anything cute enough to draw the attention of attractive women, is great for generating opportunities to open.
Subsequent chapters explain things such as turning generic boring conversation more personal and interesting for both parties, and turning personal conversations into sexual ones. The chapters on personal presence and excess verbiage can be especially enlightening.
The third part is called ‘Example conversations’, but that’s a misnomer. The first two parts were full of examples as well. However the third part fully fleshes out the system using loads of examples, set in various locales ranging from bookstores to on airplanes to night clubs. Details on things like observing, relating and qualification are explained by using the most outrageous examples from Elise’s own experience. The thing you must realize is that Elise used to be a comedian, and has incredibly sharp wit. So his conversations sometimes seem unreal in terms of the twists and turns he takes. Entertaining though.
Don’t worry that the material isn’t relevant to your own life, if you check out the other material and examples on the Charisma Arts website, it becomes clear more mundane conversation material works just as well.
If you’ve ever worried what to talk about with a woman once your routines-stack (or even opening conversational thread) runs out, then this is the product for you. What I like is that it offers an alternative to methods requiring you to be a dominant alpha male (since that’s not for everyone). Simply being honest, straight-forward, and making deep connections with women (and basically everyone else as well) while being confident in your ability to do so, is all that’s required. In a way it’s like How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
And it’s actually a really fun book to read.
