One fo the best pieces of advice I have ever learned about making a connection with someone is find a way to genuinely compliment them within the first five minutes.

I don’t mean, “Wow, you are gorgeous.” That is a terrible compliment. It will get a smile and a quicker pace from me.

Something more like, ” You have the most amazing eyes,” or “Your necklace is stunning,” shows that you are actually paying attention tot he person in front of you, not just focusing on you and what you want.

My ex would charm women with things like, “The shape of your eyebrows is very inviting.” If it was natural, she loved him. If she plucked, she would love that her effort paid off.

*grins and shrugs* It takes all types.

A compliment, a true, heartfelt, genuine compliment can’t be beat as an ice-breaker.

I agree that most people want to leave something behind after which people can remember them by, but then there are some that just want to live the best life they can and don’t care if even their grandchildren don’t recall their names. But the key in both is to enjoy your life and not let it pass you by, thinking ‘oh, tomorrow I’ll get rich and be happy, or tomorrow I’ll love 20 pounds and will finally have the confidence to ask that girl out.’

I really identify with this. I used to think that if you could just go through life being comfortable that would be great. It would be easy and you would have no problems.

But then I realized that life is about pushing boundaries and doing things that you have never done before.

Only then do you feel the juice for life.

That comment about people afraid of living than of death is so freaken true.

It would be better to have lived a short exciting fulfilling life then a long painless and lonely one.
