*Update: Text message photos with Lovedrop at bottom*
According to Venusian Arts, they no longer have Mike Long and Area51Lifestyle as a marketing partner. For those guys who aren’t informed, Area51Lifestyle were the powerhouse behind the Mind of Mystery product. Lovedrop told me that the Venusian Arts were upset with the production of the Mind of Mystery DVD set by Area51Lifestyle. Apparently, the DVDs didn’t look like the production photos, had no chapter listings, and basically “warned him in advance not to skimp on those things”.
Hence, the 33% return rate with affiliates and a few as high as 75%. After talking to Lovedrop, he tells me they are no longer working with Mike Long and Area51Lifestyle are using Mystery’s name without Venusian Art’s permission. Mike Long denies this as he tells me they have a signed contract and are owed marketing expenses. These rumors discussed on Savoy’s blog.
Does this sound familiar? Well.. it should, because Mystery has a long history of screw ups with business partners. I hope he gets better help for the future or tries to fix whatever causes him to cause chaos with successful business partners.
Venusian Arts Revelation is a new book due out soon, and you can count on it being a top grade product, according to Lovedrop. Everything will be done in house and by their quality standards. Apparently, lesson learned…

Ironic—I read this as I was playing the latest Area51 video. I don’t usually bother watching them, but the email, in retrospect, used a bunch of manipulative sales techniques to get me to click on it. Once I realized it was just Mike Long blabbing in a boring way I started tuning out and wondering about his previous career as an infamous professional “Magic: The Gathering” cheater and what a shit product MoM is, relative to what it could be. So while it’s still playing I click over here, procrastinating a bit about going out for a few more rounds of tequila, and what do I see? Perfect timing.
And of course, the email was supposedly from “Mike Long and Mystery”, on Mike’s adventures with Mystery’s “harem” or something.
And now I have to get out of the fucking house. I wish there were a hypnosis product for that. Maybe I’ll do it for myself.
Comment by Donovan on 5 May 2008:
Get out of the house M0in10nz. Please. =)
Comment by smoothvirus on 5 May 2008:
I have seen Revelation. It looks similar to Robert Greene’s Art of Seduction. A sneak preview of it was given on Sunday to members of the DC Lair, we videotaped it and I’ll be posting it in a week or two.
Comment by Savoy on 5 May 2008:
My little cousin is nine years old. Every year, in school, he’s gotten into fist fights with the other kids. It’s not a rough school, so this behavior stands out. And every time, he has an explanation for how it’s the other kid’s fault.
I didn’t want my cousin to grow up to be a thug, so I talked to him. He had dozens of reasons why dozens of kids had done him wrong…but the common element was HIM. He didn’t like the message, but he got it.
Not sure when Lovedrop and Mystery will get that message. Maybe - just maybe - the problems Mystery has with everyone who tries to work with him are not based on some massive celestial conspiracy against him but in fact actually have something…a little teensy something…to do with him.
Comment by Yummy Stale Bread on 5 May 2008:
Perhaps a lot of nonsense that surrounds Mystery has to do with Mystery’s own behavior, but it is curious how he keeps becoming involved with individuals that use his image and notoriety to promote themselves.
Comment by Dirk Dig on 6 May 2008:
Surprise… More crazy behavior. From a crazy person.
Comment by gigi on 6 May 2008:
I find this to be good news. Mystery is closely followed by the whole ‘get girls’ industry, and Mike Long with his sleazy marketing has thus given the whole industry a bad name.
Just for those of you who don’t know, Mike Long is one of the more successful internet marketers out there, and that’s way before he met Mystery. He has made millions upon millions, as did his close buddy Frank Kern, the man behind Neil Strauss’ Annihilation Method.
Business wise these people deserve admiration, and they are not ‘evil’ people or anything of the sort, however they will make an enormous contribution to the integrity and honesty of this community if they’ll leave us alone.
For the record I’m not a big fan of Mystery, but my guess is that he ain’t leaving us, so my hope is that he’ll choose someone just a weeeee bit less annoying as a marketer. It will probably make everybody happy - PUA’s, students, and him alike.
Comment by Pashin on 6 May 2008:
This is great news for the guys at V.A. I personally did not like the way Mike Long tried to sell stuff. All his marketing tactics actually made me not want to buy his products. The sample videos had poor quality and would not make me want to buy anything from him.
My question is how could someone screw up making a DVD set with Mystery’s material? All they would have to do is hire a professional filmer and production company. Hopefully V.A. works with the production and PR team that Mehow uses or someone with a proven track record. I guess you get what you pay for!
Comment by Savoy on 6 May 2008:
What crappy cell phone is that anyway?
Comment by Donovan on 6 May 2008:
That’s the same brand as yours Nick, a Blackberry. The reason it looks like an XT monitor is due to my camera and the screen of the phone having a digital hertz-rate dance off!
Comment by Savoy on 6 May 2008:
Suuuuuuuuure
Comment by Jazzyhap on 6 May 2008:
As a huge fan, I am dissapointed at the direction this has gone. I buy Mystery Method, and I find out none of it goes to Mystery. I join the Mystery Method Forum, and all of Mysterys old posts, as well as Style and others are there. But no Mystery. I get flagged for giving advice. I get banned for calling them on the flagging. They were no PUA’s at all. I AMOGed them and I am nobody.
I get emails, and I read the name Mystery, but on comes Mike Long. I have never watched a full video, I have always fallen asleep. Trouble sleeping? Watch one of those 20 minuite videos.
The way things are going, the 2nd season of VH1’s Pick Up Artist will have Mystery’s name, a pic of Mystery, and then someone like Joe D. will do the whole show.
Where is Mystery?
Comment by m0in10nz on 6 May 2008:
Actually, the vast majority of Mystery’s old posts in Mystery’s Lounge were deleted, along with all the other old posts, when he decided to let all his students join the Lounge. The Game makes the Lounge out to be something incredible, which perhaps it was at one point, but now it’s boring. The instructors rarely post interesting things there now because they want you to buy more “special” seminars and pay for more advice.
Savoy’s people at the time—particularly, Sinn—misled me into believing that they were still affiliated with Mystery when I asked about it.
And Savoy is a hypersensitive douchebag who literally pretends to be a fully outfitted flaming homosexual. The lisp he had on Dr. Phil is nothing compared to what he does in-field.
Comment by Williewonkers on 6 May 2008:
oh no this is no good
Comment by Bruce Wayne (Dark Knight) on 6 May 2008:
So what exactly is going on here?
I just read “The Game” and “the mystery method” yesterday and today. So now Mystery isn’t affiliated with either mysterymethod.com or themysterymethod.com?
And now he’s no longer affiliated with area51lifestyle.com? Is Mike Long the guy that was in a couple of Mystery’s videos saying how he was a millionaire through internet marketing and how he loved hanging out with Mystery?
This is ridiculous that Mystery keeps hopping around from site to site and company to company. When is season 2 of The pickup Artist supposed to air on VH1? Have they even begun filming yet?
Comment by Ced on 7 May 2008:
I thing they begun casting
Comment by Matt Savage on 7 May 2008:
It seems to me that the problem is, guys like Frank Kern and all his marketing prodigies(Mike Long) are exploiting the top seduction guru’s because they know that this particular niche is as profitable as all their ‘make money’ products. I’m not saying their marketing tactics don’t work but they don’t add credibility to the community either. They simply want piece of the action and could probably care less whether guys are improving their dating lives.
A good example is the Annihilation Method. Do people really think that was worth thousands of dollars? Do people really believe that Neil could ONLY make 375 copies of the DVD. Give me break! This wasn’t even ground breaking stuff, it was just repackaged material marketed with a whole lot of hype. Did it help anyone? Maybe it helped some of the 375 people who bought it, but mostly it put a lot of money in the pockets of the marketing crew. The same can be said for Mike Long and this ridiculous Mind of Mystery product.
Comment by Fersen on 7 May 2008:
So long, Mike Long. Thank goodness we don’t have to have him banging on anymore about that pile of pig intestines, Evil Dave - give him a wave!
Comment by Brad on 7 May 2008:
Ha… obviously 375 people thought it was worth it… lol.
I don’t know much about Long, but I do like Kern, and I’ve never heard any bad drama surrounding him…
… he puts out some pretty top flight stuff in my opinion.
Oh, and for the record, this niche is “okay” as far as profitability
Most people aren’t as “hyper” from a buying standpoint as “make money”… or even health and fitness due to skepticism…
… but that’s just my experience.
Comment by Sasuke on 7 May 2008:
Mystery should work with David DeAngelo’s production team, so he can publish his video like proffessional.
Comment by Artwork35 on 8 May 2008:
I’m glad I don’t follow any of that routine stuff or Mystery Method I dont care who is teaching it or who is getting the proceeds. Obviously Mystery is out to make money like the other PUA’s. As far as teaching RSD is way beyond what these guys are doing. As far as Pickup Mystery is still good, Sinn is right behind him but routine based crap is for those without a personality. No thanks
Comment by DonJuan81 on 8 May 2008:
I dont care if it was in Blue Ray the overall value of the product was crap. I get more out of Sinn’s blog and such than that release.
Some of you are concerned of who you’re giving your money to why not just mail your money to Mystery personally since you’re so caught up in being his right hand finance man. Like the above post said RSD is putting out quality information and is a cut above MM, VA, Area36 or whoever.
Comment by m0in10nz on 8 May 2008:
Is it just a coincidence that these RSDcult.com ignorati are lauding Jlaix’s (or whatever Jeffy is going by now) little pony, Johnny (aka “Sinn”—stealing his name from Mystery’s old wing, because he couldn’t think of anything even remotely original)?
The Blueprint is Ekchart Tolle / Tony Robbins LITE rip-off SHITE—your archetypal self-help stuff stolen and remarketed as original genius.
Sinn recycles common community knowledge to newbs, with a little bit of personal anecdote, and a few laughably false attributions (Captain Jack invented entering her comfort zone and then leaning back? what shite). If it has “value” to you, that means you’re a lazy ignorant fucktard who hasn’t read other forums already.
Comment by Thunderpeel on 8 May 2008:
Guys, why does any of this stuff even matter to you? Does Mystery or any of these supposed gurus truly care about you like you were their best friend? No. Focus on the growth of your own game, don’t become a pickup nerd and start collecting guru adventures like they were comic book issues.
Comment by Whocares on 9 May 2008:
gotta love all the dumbasses who defend this stuff or who get their feathers wrinkled if you say something against Mystery. No different than the cult of RSD who think everything is just about ‘Being’ This is like the Yankees vs RedSox. Amazing that these guys preach to the mainstream that the community produces better men yet I see a bunch of boys getting hot and bothered over who’s method is better, who’s saying what about who and whatever else. I see a bunch of hero worshipping, player hating, hero defending guys with low self esteem who would argue to their grave over this stuff. Are you a better man now? Wow you attacked Mystery, RSD, Sinn, David D or whoever. Feel better?
Comment by Donovan on 9 May 2008:
Good points Whocares.
Comment by Mack Tight on 9 May 2008:
I really don’t get too worked up about Mystery’s business decisions, I’m busy worrying about my own.
I will never hear the true unbiased “behind the scenes” story behind any of this or the battle over “The Mystery Method” name and I’m not going to waste my time speculating. All sides are continuously pumping out propaganda and I’m not falling for any of it.
The truth is Mystery as a guru is amazing and that is damn hard to argue with.
In regards to the quality of any seduction product in general, you have to take it on a product by product basis and not build blind loyalty to a guru or company. Even The Beatles released a misguided flop album or two in their discography (e.g. “Beatles for Sale”). Garth Brooks had the “Chris Gaines” album. U2 had “Pop”. Mariah Carey had “Glitter”.
I recommend checking out a site such as mine before spending your money on a product and I’ll try to give my unbiased opinion about it.
Comment by theManiac on 9 May 2008:
I agree WhoCares. This community has become less about being a better man overall and more about joining sides and attacking other sides and methods. Go to the direct forums and they attack indirect students. Go to the VA forum and you’ll hear attacks against RSD, Lovesystems (MM) and such. Go to RSD and you can’t post anything outside of RSD. Go to SoSuave and they pretty much attack it all
trying to distinguish themselves from the community by taking on an aura of being ‘Don Juans’
It’s really getting ridiculous but you have to understand that the majority of the guys doing the worshipping and attacking are 17-23 years of age. Understandable for guys that age. Creepy for guys 30 and over with that mentality.
As far as VA and Area 51 IMO it still doesn’t constitute for what was a subpar product. The most useful information was Lovedrops audio portion. The truth is Mystery hasn’t released anything new or thought provoking since the original DVD set and the Venusian Arts Handbook. And as much as I hate to admit but give credit where it’s due - RSD’s products are a notch above what VA is releasing right now. Foundations, the Jeffy Show and the Blueprint have been well put together and informative no matter what New Age/Self Help guru they may have been influenced by. We all have been influenced by someone even Mystery who (see the Project Hollywood release) continues to go on and on about Survive and Replicate, evolution and
other matters that he’s been talking about for 6 years (see the Red Queen, Selfish Gene, Sperm Wars for references).
But the whole point of the argument is the fact that they were embarrassed by the amount of negative feedback and put the blame all on Mike Long and Area 51 and took none of the blame themselves like a coach who blames his players for a lousy game.
By the way Donovan you’re doing a hell of a job with this site. You should moderate some of the personal attacks though by at least editing them out. Peace
Comment by Ares on 9 May 2008:
I find it stupid how everyone argues over pick up schools.
There are MANY good resources, why not take advantage of them all?
Blueprint was very good.
Venusian Arts has innovated much more than what people might think or others want you to believe. Lovedrop’s new book is LIGHT YEARS beyond anything that has been ever written on this subject and I’m sure he will shut a lot of mouths.
The only thing I haven’t liked much about VA is their focus on opinion openers. Not that they are bad, but there are much better things to open and get attraction fast. For example creating a positive fun vibe and self-amusing (”bringing the party”) like RSD or Mehow do.
DiCarlo has solid stuff, Sinn has very cool stuff on sexual framing.
Juggler is cool for vining.
Have you seen Hypnotica’s infield footage. How fucking gold is that!!
The point I try to make is don’t adhere only to one school in a dogmatic way, it is stupid.
This is about YOUR results, and is how I have had 7 hot lays in the last 3 weeks, by drinking from all sources instead of getting into guru worshipping and guru bashing like a stupid bitch.
Comment by Ross Jeffries on 10 May 2008:
Well, I’ve been around this from the beginning and I can tell you that virtually ANY business, if it lasts long enough, is going to suffer major falling-outs, people leaving, possible lawsuits, etc.
It is the name of the game.
People used to say the same things about ME that they currently say about Mystery.
I won’t jump into the Mike Long controversy, but I will say this:
This ENTIRE MARKET is aging. Meaning it has all been around so long that there are just too many confusing choices for people already buying in, and for newcomers who are confused by all the choices but who haven’t bought ANYTHING.
To put it shortly, all the bootcamps, seminar, DVD’s etc are now no longer “products” but “commodities”.
A commodity is basically something like rice or oil; there is no real difference or distinction in the eyes of the buyer other than the price and terms of delivery.
The question is: who can break the stalemate and how?
Hmmm……

From reading these comments, D, you’ve beaten me to becoming the ThunderCat of the community again
All we need now is for commenters to call you fat, and post lots of fake Ross Jeffries comments… xx
Comment by sting on 15 May 2008:
Guys -
This “Anyone who cares about this is pathetic, just get on with your own thing” post reply to community news… doesn’t work.
by taking the time out of your busy, fulfilled lives to read and reply to the news (as well as putting down a bunch of people into the bargain)… your not setting a great example for the advice your giving, are you? shouldn’t you just be too busy leading a fulfilled life to bother with correcting the lameness of wankers over the internet?
Comment by Bjorn on 5 June 2008:
Glad I found this site out, the whole point of this community is to develop yourself into a better person, not an ignorant one.
I got some solid advice for the guys who start out here…
LISTEN TO BRUCE-LEE
Take what you need, discard what is not needed…
My game is unique as it contains, developing a strong innercore, and then a technique here and there which is completely congruent with the way I am..
RSD teaches alot of good stuff, self-fun, being not doing etc.
Mystery teaches a bit more of a tactical approach, I can’t comment on VA/ not Love Systems… Furthermore I’ve looked into Juggler, Sean Messenger, Hrystyan(Captain Jack) David Shade, mehow etc etc…..
Just take what you need, and get the fuck out of this community…. Or know that there is alot of crap being tossed around here, which shouldn’t care for you… because you are developing yourself, the focus is on YOU as a person… not who has the best method or the biggest balls… develop the YOU method
Comment by puacrazy on 8 June 2008:
I think the PUA community is stuck in the dark ages, while you guys worry about chasing skirt the world around you is fucking suffering, go to a higher purpose and the women will come.
thats my thought for the day,
Comment by Scot McKay on 9 June 2008:
PUAcrazy and Bjorn, your comments caught my attention from the main page.
Both of you are on to something.
You become the best version of you possible. While on that process, you learn how to understand what women really want…and not just *any* woman, but the vision of womanhood YOU want to deserve.
And indeed, if you are a man of higher-purpose and depth of ambition, then the leadership and confidence it takes to be that guy will indeed attract the women who are the vision of well-balanced excellence you’ll demand at that point.
It’s the only way to fly. Let the other guys fight over the self-absorbed women who think themselves too beautiful for anyone…and let them pick up the pieces later.
Let’s hear it for beautiful, sexy women who have a heart of gold, stable emotions, solid self-respect and the sense of adventure to match.
And if you’ve been brainwashed into believing those women no longer exist, especially in North America, take a look around. The guys you respect the most in real life are finding them quite effectively. This is no accident.
Comment by Brad on 10 June 2008:

And while we’re at it… anybody seen my pet unicorn… lol.
I’m playing.
But, in the case of most hot women, I’ll say it again…
You show me a beautiful… yet self absorbed woman… and I’ll show you the guy that’s tired of fuckin’ her.
Comment by Scot McKay on 10 June 2008:
Hell, our pet unicorns have wings too around here.
Anything’s possible.

Is it really a surprise?
I think the word “mistery” is in a at least on product from every guru out there
As Stlye said, mystery left the genius out of the bottle, now live with ir
