The Worst Enemy of a PUA
From the title of the post, you’d probably think that I’m talking about low self-esteem, inner game, horrible techniques, bad attitude, or needy body language.
Far from it…
Actually I’m talking about something which you have little or no control over. Something that struck me yesterday morning and without warning.
I’m of course talking about the dreaded…
COLD SORE

I don’t know when I originally contracted the strain, but as long as I can remember I’ve gotten them. I must have shared a bottle with a kid, or perhaps drinking at the water fountain back in primary school. Filthy kids.
The last few weeks I’ve been preparing to take my finals for my last semester year here in college. I’ve been stressed, going to bed late with early mornings and my immune system just hit the wall after a long make out session the night before last with my girlfriend. I have no medical proof, but I think the constant pressure on my lips combined with everything else set it off.
The next morning I was in the final presentation for my advertising class and felt it… “Oh shit… I must have split my lip last night”. Then throughout the day it got bigger and itchier. Now, I’ve got the flu and a cold sore and can’t do anything with my girlfriend.
Great.
Lucikly, I started applying Abreva early and upped my dosage of lysine vitamins. That should cut it in half. The really funny thing is that usually when I feel these coming along, I think they are zits and try and pop them, which inflames them to the size of Krakatoa proportions and keeps them around for about 2 weeks. No joke.
So hopefully this outbreak will die down within a few days. So… hmmm… time to have internal retrospection on my life (alone time) and perhaps more emotional bonding with the girlfriend! =)

Next time you might want to get a script for acyclovir or valcyclovir… they work MUCH better than Abreva! Get it right when you feel the tingling (or ask for the script next time you see the doctor, so you’ll have it ready).
