It is not a good idea to treat a woman like a child. Most intelligent women in this world do not seek a “daddy” or “teacher”. Not to say that there aren’t things we could learn from the boys. However, being treated as an equal while being instructed in a new hobby or task is more often than not a nice exchange when getting to know someone. This works so much in your favor because you appear knowledgeable about something cool we want to know more about, AND you’re awesome enough to expose us to it. Oh by the way, there are only 24 hours in a day.

I hate the date concept as much as the next guy. And believe me all those “routines” are mighty annoying, but the fact is that they work and that they tend to lead to a pleasant altogether experience for everyone involved so they are worth the trouble most of the time.
And in my experience most women even when they are far from stupid prefer to act as in “stupid mode” during what I would call typical male – female interactions.
And there are some good reasons for that behaviour, basically all this is in our genes, but lets not get into details.

And I don’t know how things are in your corner of the world, but where I come from in my lifetime I’ve only encountered one woman that could handle a gun and she was an instructor at one of the firing ranges that I visit occasionally (that alone gave her +40 attraction points).
Otherwise in the rare occasions that I come across an attractive woman that would go hiking, canoeing and is capable of spending a night in a tent without whining 26 hours a day I call myself a lucky man and I fire up the mushroom hunting equipment … but that’s the easy part of life. Normally I have to go do all that stuff with the guys only.

Anyway I appreciate your thoughts. A constructive female perspective on these things is always interesting.

I did the firing range date with a girl recently. She is a pretty decent software developer, reads a lot of good books and can hold her end of an intellectual conversation and on top of that she is on of those rare girls that I would take rafting (in fact I did), but she enjoyed the instructions on the firing range a lot and those afterwards as well so stupidity has nothing to with it and its quite often a good idea to threat a woman like a child.

And I appreciate how this would be something that most women wouldn’t like to admit …

Best “dates” I’ve been on weren’t dates. In fact, dates blow. Throw the concept out. It’s garbage. The best date equivalents I’ve been on include : a one-week vacation to MT, complete with hiking, canoeing and mushroom hunting. Working together to build a set for a play…. and… impromptu birthday beers at the best little bar on the West Bank.

I would add that there are no “great date ideas’ that work in every occasion.

A great idea may work better in one occasion or another one in another.

when I meet someone new for the first time, I rather go for a simple cup of coffee. this way we can chat and I get to know her, without paying more than a couple of bucks.

Seriously, this sounds retarded, but get her to put on her sweats and a hoodie, and have an old-school sleepover kinda night. Put a blanket on the floor in your living room, move all the furniture back, and play board games and order pizza. Maybe finish up with a movie that was popular when you were in junior high or high school. Last time I did this, we rented “I know what you did last summer” and “Scream” and it brought back so many laughs from the past.

And, since you’ve already got your comfy clothes on, and plenty of blankets and pillows… Maybe a cuddle/nap is in order.

I think its good to get arrange a date you know she’ll like. Find out her hobbies – horse riding, photography, a class, stock car racing etc etc. Before you do that though, think about what you want. Do you want something serious or just some fun? If you just want fun why not try this –
