i think of your site as a place to find out about a school of thought and to let others know about schools of thought i’m familiar with.

if i’m in “practical game” mood, i go through a forum rather than this site to ‘discuss’ stuff. thats the main fun of talking PU.

i like this site and the way you run it. you have your opinions and you’re fairly objective. even when i don’t agree with those opinions – respect is there.

the discussions i’ll throw my two cents in on are about styles or school of thoughts about PU. i like the dream girl section and enjoy the interviews – but theres not much to say about it – so i pass.

but yeah… this is a good site and i appreciate your efforts – as do many people, i imagine. don’t confuse that with ‘comments count’.

if you want to go wild on the ‘comments count’, start up a forum a’le MM, RSD or VA – the talk never dies there.

How do you create this edge? You have to imply and hint at things while not stating them explicitly. Leave things subtle and open to interpretation and let the readers fill the vacuum.

On posts that don’t have a bit of controversy or edge to them, you’re not going to get much feedback.

I think your intentions were good on the Tyler and Mystery posts- however, more subtle observations would have gotten the ball rolling as well- for example “Tyler Durden was portrayed as a villain and social robot in Neil’s book. Does anyone have any experience with RSD as of late? The seem to be doing there own thing in the community…” Even RSD would agree with this statement.

I’m not hatin’ – I admire the fact that you are still trying to be active in the community, spread ideas and stimulate discussion. We can’t rely on the ‘gurus’ for that anymore since they’ve all become celebrities.

But lets look at the last 12 posts:

2 guest posts from Herbal
A poll about the content on the blog
A post about changes to the blog
A dream girl post
2 posts pushing David D products
2 videos from Neil Strauss
1 post about evolving your personality
1 rant about RSD

If you want people to take part in a discussion you need to stimulate that discussion. It’s no wonder that controversial posts get people talking but it’s not the only way. We want to learn, share experiences, talk about concepts, principles and techniques.

My advice? Forget pushing products and create great content that gets people talking because its valuable to them. You’ll build a huge passionate community that you can push products to later on because you’ll have earned their permission.
