The guys over at Myspace love Neil Strauss. With Neil’s help they’ve put together 8 missions to REALLY test the rules of the game. I talked to Neil yesterday, I’m waiting on the transcript till I post the interview, but he showed me an advanced copy of this video that is now live on his Myspace page. I saw the next episode as well which is even cooler. In the interview, Neil explains more about these missions.
All Is Revealed About David Faustino
Remember how we were talking about David Faustino, Bud Bundy from Married With Children, learning the techniques of the game? Well, he puts Neil’s techniques through the olive press in competition with ladies man and “good looking celebrity”, Corin Nemic from Parker Lewis Can’t Lose.
The First Mission
Each episode has a corresponding “mission”. This weeks mission is to engage in small talk with 5 complete strangers while wearing something out of the ordinary. After you complete the mission, visit Neil’s blog on Myspace and post your success story video. The winning video will have a chance to win a free one-on-one consultation with Neil Strauss.
I’ll have all the missions linked from the Rules of the Game page in the future. Next episode airs 12.24.2007.

I found this little infomercial for “The Rules of the Game” to be extremely cheesy. From the overly rehearsed intro to the boxing montage to Neil with an apron cooking steaks and talking to the camera in his lispy voice; I found it painful to watch.
Wasn’t Neil the one that said anything can be an opener even dental floss. Then why is he sending Bud out with the beaten to death “who lies more” opener? That opener is as played out as Bud’s “how do you like them apples” line.
I am 31 and I remember Bud Bundy but I have no clue who the dude from “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose” is so I don’t think it was a fair fight putting all opening methods aside.
I wonder if Strauss will be selling the StyleLife apron in the StyleLife store next to the $37 T-shirt and $50 tie that are already available?
I loved the videos. He sent him out with that opener to test the technique, not the words.
i like the video too.
why do some people have to be soo cynical.
romeo
don’t tell me strauss is still teaching ‘who lies more?’
Oh my God this video is so funny and it shows the power of the pick up community…everything is possible, this is what i believe!
Fame
Yeah, but it also goes to show you just how competitive these PUA’s have become. Mystery had his own VH1 show, Style’s coming out with another book. The techniques work, but the openers are stupid, because the openers these people use are not their own, so it comes off as being fake. Neil developed the who lies more opener and that’s why it works for him, but for someone who doesn’t actually believe in it or even care about the topic and only uses it as an excuse to approach women, there has to be a better way…
Good point fearless…
i find it so funny that years later people are still using the same openers… are people not creative to take the principle ideas behind openers like “who lies more” “jealous girlfriend”.. and make up your own with questions that genuinely interest you…
This is ridiculous, i noticed how two comments were posted the same day two minutes after each other and the last two ended the same day and date. The comments defending the book are completely fake. I think this book is BS
Plus why should i believe a book when the writer is gay, giving advice on how to pickup a woman. Seriously, i have better luck and better ways to waste my time and money.
How can a Gay guy lie about being “The man with women?”.
PS I agree with Mack
@Anonymous 1:
They are different people with different IP addresses.
I liked “The Game” but I am not crazy about “The Rules” – too contrived, too commercialized. I think “The Layguide” is better. I also highly recommend “Dr Z on Scoring” – not only because I think the author is fucking hot, but also because it cites a lot of good solid psych research.
What are you on about Anonymous?
Neil Strauss is not Gay??
this opener is way too old if ur gonna send people out to pu then atleast give them updated material. it works but its not cool if he gets caught cuz hb’s have probly heard the old openers
